What Do I Need to Bring With Me?
So, you have decided to join us for the day ... Well Done ... Prepare yourself for a full day of very hard work ... but we will do our very best to ensure you enjoy yourselves!
Basically everything is provided:- There are tea/coffee/biscuits available on your arrival and lunch is available at the pub. When there are large numbers attending the pub will provide a varied buffet; otherwise you will be able to select from the pub menu of delicious and unusual meals.
Fresh Exmoor Spring Water bottles will be available in the lecture room, and seating is usually at tables; if numbers are too large for tables to be practical for everyone, we do have clipboards available for you to use.
It would be appreciated if you could let Libby know before the day if receipts or Certificates of Attendance are required so that she may prepare these at her leisure rather than having to do them on the day.
Morning and afternoon breaks tend to be taken on a "when convenient" basis, but as the pub is open all day, you are welcome to take a break during the lectures if needed. We do try to fit in a morning and an afternoon break, but sometimes delegates elect to carry on working rather than stop. The organisation is generally fairly informal, so we tend to organise breaks etc. as lecture time dictates.
However, you will have time to network with friends old and new, and to take a quiet stroll round the area if you so desire, or to visit a few of Wiveliscombe's unusual selection of individual shops.
Our aim is that you will spend and enjoyable day with us that is lively and informative, but the Lecturers are very dynamic and feel that this is learning time - an opportunity that delegates are keen to make the very most of.
SO, ALL YOU WILL NEED TO BRING IS YOURSELF PLUS PENS AND PAPER. Plug-ins for lap-tops are also available if required but we do ask you to turn the sound effects down to make a more peaceful environment for other attendees.
You may find it beneficial to get hold of a copy of Sankaran's Schema Booklet, but this is not obligatory. Also, laminated copies of the Periodic Table are available to buy on the day at a nominal cost.
